Gator Harley Davidson Poker Run
Benefit poker run
A poker run and auction is planned for Saturday to benefit Michele Teyssier of Tavares, who was in a serious motorcycle accident Oct. 3 in Zellwood.
Teyssier was flown to ORMC, hospitalized for 10 days, and has had five surgeries on her leg, hand and hip. She will need skin grafting and more surgery. Proceeds from the poker run will be used to help defray medical expenses, since insurance coverage has been depleted.
Michele and her husband, Pierre Teyssier, are owners of the Paradise Harbor Marina in Howey-in-the-Hills.
Poker run participants may sign up at Gator Harley-Davidson at 9:30 a.m., with the last bike out at 11 a.m. Cost is $10 a hand, with extra hands $5 each. The ride starts at Gator Harley in Leesburg and ends at Paradise Harbor Marina. Time for the last bike in is 3:30 p.m. This event is a Chapter Challenge for fellow riders who participate.
All proceeds will go to the Michele Teyssier Trust Fund at any branch of Wachovia Bank. Donations are welcome.
Other activities will be a 50-50 drawing, an auction at 4:30 p.m., raffle drawings, door prizes, live music and food -- all at the Paradise Marina. Fellow motorcycle riders and friends of Teyssier collected Harley Davidson T-shirts to be used for a handmade quilt to be auctioned at the event.
